Junior Kitchen Supervisor

To assist the Senior Kitchen Supervisor in the kitchen outlet/operation and to ensure that the company’s excellent reputation for food quality is maintained at all times.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Kitchen Supervisor on and as and when basis in the area assigned to him/her on the day.
• To prepare and food stuffs in accordance with menu recipes, quality criteria and quantities required.
• Maintain the integrity and authenticity of recipes offered at the respective restaurant/ section.
• Source authentic ingredients and or recommend substitute ingredients, if not available on the Maltese Islands.
• Optimize cooking processes with attention to speed and quality.
• Maintain outlet safety at all times.
• Consistently maintain food and safety protection by ensuring that all food handling processes are compliant with HACCP food safety guidelines, regulations and procedures.
• Interact with customers, communicating menu items and promoting dishes listed on menu.
• To participate in Training and Development programs offered by the organization.
• Maintain a climate of friendly cooperation
• Work within budgetary framework established for the department

  Educational and skill requirements
  3 years working experience
  Good understanding of how the role contributes to the success of the Restaurant.
  Willing to work on a shift basis and flexibility in working both weekends and public holidays.

• Verbal and written communications skills in English and any other European Language is an asset.
• Conform to grooming standards.
• Good time management.
• Leadership skills.
